Inhaler Guide is a comprehensive, user-friendly resource that educates patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals on proper inhaler techniques to support optimal respiratory care. Developed as part of CASCADES’ sustainability efforts, this initiative aligns with the organization’s mission to improve healthcare quality while reducing environmental impact. By ensuring inhalers are used effectively, the Inhaler Guide helps reduce medication waste, enhance patient outcomes, and contribute to a more sustainable healthcare system.

The inhaler video page on the Canadian Lung Association’s website provides clear, expert-led demonstrations to help individuals use their inhalers correctly, ensuring they receive the full benefit of their medication. Consider printing off copies of the page for your patient’s inhaler, and review the instructional video on the website with your patient. Links to the appropriate instructional site could be included in patient information sheets.

Smoking Cessation

Free Nicotine Replacement Therapy in Ontario

CleanShot 2025-02-08 at 12.38.39@2x.png

STOP on the Net is an online-only smoking cessation funded by the Ontario Ministry of Health, and run from the INTREPID Lab at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH). It provides nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) medication kits based on self-reported smoking habits for people living in Ontario. To our knowledge, is it on the only way to get free NRT in Ontario. Enrolment requires an email address. Of note, signup must involve the patient; a healthcare provider (or other person) can help sign up a patient, but can’t do the entire signup alone. A lack of telephone enrolment and tech literacy barriers may limit access. Please see patient information sheets and a poster below:
